Grandma Betty's Baking specializes in buttery, melt-in-your-mouth shortbread cookies - just like grandma used to make! We make our cookies the old-fashioned way: handcrafted in small batches using quality ingredients.
Grandma Betty was a remarkable woman. Beyond being a gifted baker, Betty was a devoted wife and loving mother, and had a commitment to life-long learning. She lived for many years in Toronto's East End, where she raised five children.
Each year at Christmas, Betty's family, friends, and neighbors all looked forward to the smell of her freshly baked shortbread.
To our family, these buttery, melt-in-your-mouth cookies taste just like the magic of Christmas - but that hasn't stopped us from enjoying these cookies all year round!
Grandma Betty's Baking was founded in 2022 by Betty's only granddaughter, Samantha. She loves baking, family traditions, and being able to cheer up the people she loves with a little something sweet. For Samantha, her grandmother Betty represents the power of one woman's love, wisdom, care, and determination to create positive change in her home and community that lives on through generations.
We care deeply about ensuring the best possible experience for our customers and our staff. This means that the quality and safety of our food products and our kitchen are of paramount importance. We work diligently to maintain a clean, sanitary, and well-organized kitchen. We strive not only to meet, but to exceed, the most current public health standards and food safety regulations. Samantha holds a certificate in safe food handling practices and has years of experience advocating for healthier and safer work environments.
NUTS: Our cookies are currently baked in a kitchen in which nuts and nut products are stored. While most of our cookies don't contain any nuts or nut ingredients, at this time we cannot guarantee a 100% nut-free facility.

With the guidance and approval of our local Toronto Public Health inspector, Samantha currently operates a home bakery in Toronto's East End near Woodbine and Gerrard. To maintain privacy, we don't post that address online. And although baking at home is permitted under the current public health guidelines, it is not permitted to have customers pick up their orders - which is why we only offer delivery at the moment!
It would be a dream come true to open a storefront location, and Samantha is working hard to make that happen as soon as possible.

Yes! We hope to be able to offer you all of those options and more next year! First we'll need a kitchen with a little more space to accomodate additional ingredients and even more cookies! In the meantime, we're working on perfecting our gluten-free and vegan cookie recipes.
